WHAT IT IS INK REMOVAL AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Ink removal is a technique that experienced Tattoo Artists use to fade away undesirable ink on the skin. It works on old and new ink of any color and any part of the body.

Ink Removal works by penetrating into the skin a dissolvable solution made out of water and andtrichloroacetic. This solution breaks the particle of the ink fading away the color after the recommended sessions.

Contraindications for this procedure and when it is NOT advised:

  • Pregnant or Nursing.

  • Diabetic

  • Keloids or scarring problems

  • Use of accutane and/or retinol (in the past 6 months).

  • Undergoing chemotherapy

  • Feeling sick!

 

DOES INK REMOVAL HURT?

There is a tolerable burning sensation during the treatment.

You can immediately return to your daily routine after the ink removal, following the after care instructions given during your appointment.

 

WHAT TO AVOID PRIOR INK REMOVAL? 

  • Aspirin or ibuprofen 24-48 hours prior to your appointment.

  • Alcohol, caffeine, blood thinner the day of your appointment.

  • Fish oil or Vitamin E one week prior to your appointment (they are natural blood thinners).

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AND AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT?

  • Expect the area to feel tender during and after the treatment for 2-3 days.

  • Area will look red and swollen, it will feel sensitive to the touch right after the treatment. Swollen will go away in the next 6 hours, redness will stay for 2-3 days. It will feel sensitive for a couple hrs after your treatment.

  • A healing cream is applied on the treated area right after the service is completed.

  • You will get a full after-care kit with instructions on how to take care of the area and the proper ointment(s) you need during the healing process.

  • Expect keeping the area dry for 12 hours after your treatment.

  • Expect keeping the area away from sun exposure for 14 days. It is a MUST to prevent scarring and discoloration.

  • Expect seeing a dark scab after 5-7 days of your treatment. It will peel off on its own after 7 days (depending on lifestyle, after-care and ethnicity).

    WHAT TO AVOID AFTER INK REMOVAL? 

  • Avoid wearing tight clothing on the treated for the next 2-4 days.

  • Avoid scratching or peeling the skin to prevent infection or discolouration.

  • Avoid excessive sweating for 7 days. Moderate exercise is fine after 3 days of the treatment.

  • Avoid sun tanning and swimming (beach, pool, jacuzzi, bath, etc.) for 15 days. 

  • Avoid self-tanning or any cream that contains Vitamin D for 10 days.

  • Avoid perfume and deodorant near or in the treated area.


CAN I SUNTAN AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Yes! You can suntan once the area is fully healed (around 40 days). It is STRONGLY recommended to avoid sun exposure during the healing process, discoloration might occur otherwise.

For best long-term results, we recommend to apply a high SPF on the treated area prior to sun exposure and re-apply every 3 hours.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

The length of the treatment depends on the size of the area to be treated.

On average, it can take from 30min to 2 hrs.

 

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE THE RESULT AFTER THE INK REMOVAL?

30-40 days after your initial treatment. You should be able to see the color of the ink lighter than how it was before.

  

HOW LONG DOES THE RESULT LAST?

Ink Removal provides permanent results when client finish all the recommended sessions.

CAN I GET THE TREATMENT DONE IF MY SKIN IS TANNED?

No, we recommend that you book your treatment when your skin is not tanned.
