WHAT IS STRETCH MARKS CAMOUFLAGE WITH INK AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Stretch Marks Camouflage is a safe tattooing method that fills in every stretch mark with tattoo pigments that matches the surrounding skin.

Each client gets a custom made color during the appointment. After mixing and matching colors we proceed filling in each stretch marks. The healing process takes around 4-6 weeks (depending on skin type, condition and after care protocol followed by the client). Once the stretch marks are healed, you will notice how less noticeable they are. This treatment provides permanent results, usually three sessions are needed but treatment sessions varies depending on the severity of the case.

Contraindications for this procedure and when it is NOT advised:

  • Pregnant or Nursing.

  • Diabetic

  • Keloids or scarring problems

  • Use of accutane and/or retinol (in the past 6 months).

  • Undergoing chemotherapy

  • Feeling sick!

 

DOES STRETCH MARKS CAMOUFLAGE HURT?

There is zero to mild pain during the procedure.

You can immediately return to your daily routine after the camouflage, following the after care instructions given during your appointment.

 

WHAT TO AVOID PRIOR STRETCH MARKS CAMOUFLAGE? 

  • Aspirin or ibuprofen 24-48 hours prior to your appointment.

  • Alcohol, caffeine, blood thinner the day of your appointment.

  • Fish oil or Vitamin E one week prior to your appointment (they are natural blood thinners).

    ”NOTE: Allergy testing is recommended before the scheduled appointment if there is any doubt you may be allergic to the pigment. CONTACT US if this is your case!


WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AND AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT?

  • Expect the area to feel tender and sore after the treatment and for 3 days.

  • Area will look red and swollen right after the treatment. Swollen will go away in the next 6 hours, redness will stay for 2-3 days.

  • A healing cream is applied on the treated area right after the service is completed.

  • You will get a full after-care kit with instructions on how to take care of the area and the proper ointment(s) you need during the healing process.

  • Expect keeping the area dry for 12 hours after your treatment.

  • Expect keeping the area away from sun exposure for 14 days.

  • Expect seeing a dark scab after 5-7 days of your treatment. It will peel off on its own after 7 days (depending on lifestyle, after-care and ethnicity).

    WHAT TO AVOID AFTER STRETCH MARKS CAMOUFLAGE? 

  • Avoid wearing tight clothing on the treated area for the next 4 days.

  • Avoid scratching or peeling the skin to prevent infection or discolouration.

  • Avoid excessive sweating for 7 days. Moderate exercise is fine after 2 days of the treatment.

  • Avoid exposing the area to the full water pressure of the shower for 7 days.

  • Avoid tanning and swimming (beach, pool, jacuzzi, bath, etc.) for 30 days. 

  • Avoid sunscreen, self-tanning or any cream that contains Vitamin D for 10 days.

  • Avoid perfume and deodorant near or in the treated area.


CAN I SUNTAN AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Yes! You can suntan once the area is fully healed (around 40 days). It is STRONGLY recommended to avoid sun exposure during the healing process, discoloration might occur otherwise.

For best long-term results, we recommend to apply a high SPF on the treated area prior to sun exposure and re-apply every 3 hours.


NOTE: Once healed —> Stretch Marks DO NOT change color or fade away when you tan. It is safe to go to the beach/pool BUT you must apply sunblock.


WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I TAN?

Once your stretch marks are fully healed you can suntan BUT you need to apply sunblock every 3 hours. Failure to do will cause the color to fade in the long term.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?

The length of the treatment depends on the size of the area to be treated.

On average, it can take from 30min to 4 hrs.

 

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE THE RESULT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

30-90 days after your initial treatment. You should have a reliable visible indication of your final result.

After the procedure, you may experience some mild irritation, redness and swelling, which can last up to one week.

During the third week, the treated area will slightly get darker. DO NOT PANIC! It is healing.

Once this has subsided, you will begin to see the result of your treatment.

  

HOW LONG DOES THE RESULT LAST?

Stretch Marks Camouflage provides permanent results when client follow all the after care instructions and finish all the recommended sessions. Otherwise, a color boost may be needed in the future.

CAN I GET THE TREATMENT DONE IF MY SKIN IS TANNED?

No, we recommend that you book your treatment when your skin is not tanned.
